There are two defibrillators in Stanford Parish maintained by the Council. North of the motorway, there is one in the old phone box outside the Old Post Office – TN25 6DF. South of the motorway, there is one on the outside wall of Otterpool Park LLP’s offices on the former racecourse – CT21 4HX. There is also one on the Up platform at Westenhanger Station, maintained by Southeastern Railway.

In an emergency, call 999 from where the patient is. The call centre will work out your location from your phone and if they determine a defibrillator is needed and you are within 400 metres of one, they will tell you how to access it. The red circles below indicate the areas covered by our defibs.

If you are outside the red circles, and can phone without losing contact with the call centre call 01303 722141 and be prepared to state if you are north or south of the motorway. This will connect you to a volunteer from our Volunteer Emergency Telephone System (V.E.T.S). These kind souls will know how to access our defibs and can provide other assistance, say, if you are on your own with a patient. You can read how the system works here.

Map of defibrillaors

The defib at the station does not cover any more of the village than the Council’s ones but may be useful. There’s a number to call on the box. Our volunteers do not have the code to open the Southeastern Railway box. This might delay things so that one would only be a last resort if ours couldn’t be accessed for any reason.
